Schultz & Dooley were first introduced in 1958 to Northeastern television audiences in a series of award winning television commercials. In 1959 5,000 original sets of Schultz and Dooley were made in Germany by King Werks (Wuerful and Mueller). The steins have underneath the handles on the bottom lip of the steins: © THE WEST END BREWING CO. © THE WEST END BREWING CO. On the underside of the steins incised in clay UTICA, N.Y. 59 CDM UTICA, N.Y. 59 CSM is the mark © WEBCO the handle. (in green lettering on Dooley) (in blue lettering on Schultz) MADE IN GERMANY Underneath that will be the same colored mark that appears underneath the handle. Ceramarte, of Brazil, produced the steins from 1972-1982. These steins are marked: RIO NEGRINNO - SC 7,000 Sets of Schultz & Dooley MADE IN BRAZIL 7,000 Officer Sudds (introduced in 1973) © WEBCO 6,000 Countess (introduced in 1978) Made in Europe Imports (MIE) was the importer between 1982 – 1983. They are marked: © WEBCO 6,765 Schultz & Dooley 3,032 Countess MADE IN GERMANY 4,998 Officer Sudds 7,734 Farmer Mugee, (introduced in 1982) Trans World Marketing (TWM), an offshoot of MIE, was the importer from 1984 – 1985. They are marked: LIVERPOOL N.Y. 4,524 Schultz & Dooley 744 Countess © WEBCO 1,980 Officer Sudds 3,864 Farmer Mugee MADE IN GERMANY In 1985 – 1999, imported directly from Germany’s Simon Peter Gerz company.
