Schultz & Dooley Stein Markings

Schultz & Dooley were first introduced in 1958 to Northeastern television audiences in a series of award winning television commercials. In 1959 5,000 original sets of Schultz and Dooley were made in Germany by King Werks (Wuerful and Mueller). The steins have underneath the handles on the bottom lip of the steins:

(in green lettering on Dooley) (in blue lettering on Schultz) MADE IN GERMANY Underneath that will be the same colored mark that appears underneath the handle.

Ceramarte, of Brazil, produced the steins from 1972-1982. These steins are marked:

Made in Europe Imports (MIE) was the importer between 1982 – 1983. They are marked: © WEBCO 6,765 Schultz & Dooley 3,032 Countess
MADE IN GERMANY 4,998 Officer Sudds 7,734 Farmer Mugee, (introduced in 1982)

Trans World Marketing (TWM), an offshoot of MIE, was the importer from 1984 – 1985. They are marked: LIVERPOOL N.Y. 4,524 Schultz & Dooley 744 Countess © WEBCO 1,980 Officer Sudds 3,864 Farmer Mugee

In 1985 – 1999, imported directly from Germany’s Simon Peter Gerz company. They are marked: 13,953 Schultz & Dooley 10,373 U Cee (1986) © WEBCO 11,019 Officer Sudds 8,550 Bubbles LaBrew (1990)
MADE IN GERMANY 6,767 Countess 13,470 Old Man Stein (1990) 7,048 Farmer Mugee 3,204 Cousin Emma (1991) First edition steins came into being during this time.
